FAQ

Common questions

Which plan should I start on?

Starter. It’s free, digital releases are unlimited, and it reports one physical UPC. Move up when you need more UPCs reporting at once, more free members or more video. Bronze and up white-label your delivery emails; Gold adds custom email templates and a custom sender domain.

How do transaction fees work?

Every sale takes 15%, with a floor of $0.15 and a ceiling of $1.50. A $10 download costs $1.50, and so does a $200 box set. Memberships work the same way: 15% of the signup and 15% of every renewal, same floor and same cap.

How do chart reporting fees work?

$0.25 per physical unit you report — vinyl, CDs, cassettes. $0.50 per unit when the physical format is bundled with a digital album. You only pay when you report; no reporting, no fee.

What counts against my UPC limit?

Physical releases actively reporting to the charts at the same time — concurrent, not lifetime. New record on the way? Swap an older UPC out and slot the new one in. Digital catalog is unlimited and doesn’t count.

What happens if I go over a plan limit?

Nothing switches off. Free members past your plan's limit are 1¢ per member per month, and that is the only overage on any plan.

How do I get paid, and how does Single get paid?

Fans pay through your Shopify checkout, so the money lands in your Shopify Payments balance like any other product and pays out on Shopify’s normal schedule. Single’s 15% is a Shopify app charge — a line on your Shopify bill, no separate invoice.
