Upcoming Changes to Single’s Pricing: Lower Fees, More Value

What's changing with Single's subscription plans and pricing – starting Sept 1, 2024.

Since 2018, we've been on a mission to help artists and labels like you thrive. We've heard your feedback: you want more flexibility, lower fees, and room to grow by using all features - across all Single plans. We're happy to say we're making big strides in that direction.

TL;DR: Key Changes

  • New pricing effective September 1, 2024
  • Lower fees across the board on digital sales
  • More value from our subscription plans
  • New per unit fee for physical sales reporting
  • Your account updates automatically - no action needed

Here's a closer look at the key changes:

1. Your Single Subscription Gets You More

We're upgrading our subscription plans so you can do more - whether you're just starting out or already on Single’s most popular subscriptions.

  • Starter Plan: Now includes physical reporting for 1 UPC and up to 3 digital releases. Perfect for those dipping their toes into physical sales.
  • Bronze Plan: Now $20/month (down from $24) with 25 UPCs (up from 10). That's more than double the UPCs for less money, giving you room to grow.

2. Keep More of What You Earn

We're sticking with our 15% transaction fee on digital sales powered by Single, but we've significantly lowered the max you'll pay:

  • $1.50 cap on digital music downloads, livestreams, rentals, and digital collectibles (used to be $3-$5, so you’re saving up to 70%)
  • For paid memberships, it's $1.50 x number of months in your term. So a paid membership that renews monthly, the most you’d pay is $1.50 per month.

3. A New Fee Structure for Physical Reporting

We're adding a small fee of $0.25 per unit for physical album sales and Fan Packs (previously 2.5%) reported to charts. This helps us maintain our high-quality reporting service while covering rising administrative costs and necessary chart partner updates.

4. A Better Deal for Bundles

For digital + physical bundles, it's now a flat $0.50/unit fee. This replaces the old 15% transaction fee, putting more money in your pocket.

    FAQs

Will these changes affect my existing sales or only apply to new transactions?

The new pricing structure will only apply to transactions made on or after September 1, 2024.

How does the new bundle pricing work if I'm selling digital albums with vinyl?

    We will charge $0.50/unit fee.

Is there a limit to how many physical units I can sell under this new structure?

No, there's no limit! Sell as many physical units as you can. Our new per-unit fee structure is designed to scale with you, whether you're selling 10 or 10,000 units.

I’m on an annual plan, what will happen to my pricing?

If you're on an annual plan, your base subscription fee will remain unchanged until your renewal date. However, the new transaction and reporting fees will apply to all sales starting September 1, 2024. This means you'll benefit from the lower fees on digital sales and the new structure for physical sales, while keeping your discounted annual subscription rate.
